Structure

The Irish Council for Social Housing is a non-profit limited company formed by guarantee of the members and without a shareholding.

It is a federation structure with a Board of Directors who are drawn from member organisations and are elected by the affiliated organisations. In line with the requirements of the Articles of Association of the Irish Council for Social Housing, at each Annual General Meeting 1/3 of the Board resigns. These may be re-elected if nominated.

Specialist sub-committees have been formed to assist the national Board in dealing with the more detailed aspects of the various issues and work programmes. These committees comprise Board members and other co-opted representatives of affiliated organisations. They deal with:

  • Development and Management
  • Administration
  • Special Needs and Supported Housing

Nine members of the Board of Directors have been appointed as Regional Representatives to act as contacts for their regions. In this way, it is hoped that challenges and opportunities unique to a particular region can be identified and dealt with more effectively.
