Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul Service for Persons with a Mental Handicap
Official Opening of St Louise’s Housing Development
Mr Michael Finneran, Minister for Housing at the Department of the Environment officiated at the official opening of St Louise’s Social Housing Project at Glenmaroon, Chapelizod on 10th May 2010.
This much needed modern residential facility has been a very successful collaboration between the Congregation of the Daughters of Charity, who donated a very valuable site, the Dept of Environment and Fingal County Council who provided the Capital Assistance Grants, and our fundraising group RESPECT who provided approximately €4M towards this project.
The development of 9 modern bungalows has made an enormous difference to the lives of the disabled residents all of whom require the considerable support that this facility can provide. For too long these residents have endured substandard conditions and the Daughters of Charity Service is delighted to have delivered on our commitment to them.
The Service management, staff, service users and their families are extremely grateful to all who have made this a reality.
