In February 2010, the ICSH recently held a seminar on the new social housing leasing initiative in response to a considerable number of members who requested guidance on this. This initiative is now open to housing associations and members who are interested in providing accommodation under this scheme are encouraged to attend.
The seminar provided members with details and guidance on the operation and progress of the new scheme including financial details, legal agreements, allocations and management issues. Speakers included Rosalind Carroll from the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government; Bronagh D'Arcy from Túath Housing; Nick Sheward of Clúid Housing Association; and Linda Chelton from Hyndburn Homes and Clive Thomasson from Pendle Borough Council in the UK who spoke about implementing Choice Based Lettings.
