Seminars and Conferences

A key part of the work of the ICSH is the facilitated exchange of information and experience between representatives of affiliated organisations. This is achieved through seminars, conferences and standing committees.

  • Our National Social Housing Conference is held on a biennial basis and the next conference will take place in the Galway Bay Hotel, September 28th and 29th 2011. Delegates from voluntary housing associations, local authorities, government departments, the HSE and other related statutory and voluntary organisations attend the conference in which a wide variety of social housing concerns and isses are discussed. Full details on speakers and themes for the upcoming conference will be available soon.
  • Regional Meetings are held each year in each of the ICSH's seven regions: Dublin and East, Border, Midlands, West, Mid-West, South and South-East. These meetings provide oppotunities for local housing associations to meet with each other and discuss in detail issues that directly affect particular regions.
  • A number of County Meetings are held annually throughout the country in which affiliated organsiations from each county are invited to attend a meeting with ICSH development officers. Like Regional Meetings, the aim of County Meetings is to provide members with up to date information on what is happening in the voluntary housing sector. County Meetings also represent a valuable opportunity for the ICSH to get feedback from its members and to develop best practice between housing associations.
  • We also organise Continuing Professional Development (CPD) seminars throughout the year where expert speakers are invited to address specific policy areas related to housing. Our aim is to involve participation from organisations in other sectors both as speakers and as delegates.
