Homeless Services & Housing Webinar - 30th April 2020

Our 30th April Webinar was specifically for our Homeless Services & Housing members. This ICSH webinar looked at specific challenges, learnings and experiences of members to date, sharing emerging best practice on how homeless services are responding to the crisis. Speakers included Martin Hannigan from Dublin Simon Dublin Simon Community, Martin O'Connor from Cope Galway COPE Galway, Pat Doyle, ICSH President and CEO of The Peter McVerry Trust Peter McVerry Trustand Lisa Marmion from Safe Ireland Safe Ireland.

Sheltered/Supported Housing Webinar - 23rd April 2020

The ICSH is hosting a series of webinars for our member housing associations during the COVID-19 crisis to provide updates on the latest issues and developments impacting on our member organisations work.

Our Sheltered/Supported Housing Webinar (23rd April) looked at issues specific to our sheltered/supported housing member organisations, with examples and experiences of how they are responding to the COVID-19 crisis. Our housing association participants heard from Edie McGarry, Director and Company Secretary of Merrick House in Dublin and Mark Hazzard, General Manager of McAuley Place McAuley Place Naas in Kildare.

Capital Assistance Scheme (CAS) Seminar - 25th September 2019

Aidan O’Reilly, Principal Officer at the Department of Housing Planning and Local Government, provided the first input on the CAS approval process and timeline at the ICSH CAS seminar on 25th September.

The content was relevant and interesting for both AHBs new to the scheme and those experienced in CAS. Staff from the Housing Agency procurement unit, Norman Jackson and Noelle Sweeney, provided quality information to more than 20 question from the floor, and offered insights into the service they provide to assist AHB in the procurement process as part of developing new schemes.


We held our AGM 2019 on the Ashling Hotel Dublin on 19th June. Damien English TD,  Minister for Housing and Urban Development launched our Annual Report 2019 and spoke about the ciritical role for  housing associations in delivering on the 50,000 social homes committeed to in Rebuilding Ireland. In particular, he stressed the ned for the ICSH and our member orgqanisaiton communicate to communities, local auhtorities and councillors throught the country that we are making an impact and playing a ciritical role in alleviating the housing crisis.
