The overall award was made for the redevelopment of Sean Treacy housing in Dublin 1, a two year project which involved the demolition of the existing 1960s flat blocks and replacement with a mixed housing development comprising 53 homes, car parking and a community building. Circle Voluntary Housing Association manages the units on behalf of Dublin City Council.

Mr Donal McManus, Executive Director, ICSH commented, “a record number of submissions were received this year and the standard was exceptionally high which demonstrates the quality of social housing across the country”.

The Community Housing Awards were established by the Irish Council for Social Housing (ICSH) in 2003 to recognise excellence in good design and housing management and strong links with the local community for local authorities, housing associations and co-operatives.
