2015 Capital Assistance Scheme (CAS) Acquisitions

Publication requests local authorities to follow-up with the AHBs as a matter of urgency to ensure all acquisitions funding under the Capital Assistance Scheme (CAS) 2015 are completed as soon as possible and at a minimum the purchase price of the property is drawn down before the end of June 2016.

Framework Agreement for Integrated Design Team Services to support the Social Housing Strategy 2015 - 2020: Support, Supply and Reform

The Office of Government Procurement wishes to bring to your attention a new Framework Agreement for Integrated Design Team Services to support the ‘Social Housing Strategy 2015 - 2020: Support, Supply and Reform’. The Framework may be used by all local authorities in Ireland and Approved Housing Bodies.

 

 

Residential Tenancies (Amendment) Act 2015- Notice to members

The Residential Tenancies (Amendment) Act 2015 amends the 2004 Residential Tenancies Act and brings tenancies within housing associations under the remit of the Rental Tenancies Board (RTB) (formerly the PRTB) for the first time.

The Act has now commenced as of 7th April 2016. All Housing Associations now have 12 months to register each of their tenancies with the RTB. The ICSH has prepared an FAQ on the Act which may be helpful to members and is available here.

The true scale of the current housing market is not only reflected in the housing waiting lists and homelessness figures but as a broader issue encompassing households forced out of the rental market e.g. those living in overcrowded accommodation, young people unable to move out of the family home, key workers, older and disabled people in inappropriate accommodation.
