Governance and Housing Management Toolkit

The ICSH is pleased to announce that its updated Governance and Housing Management Toolkit is now available for members in the Members’ Section of this website. The toolkit updates and consolidates the previous ICSH Guide - Working for Good Governance (2008) and also includes additional advice and policy guidance in areas such as board governance and renewal, housing management policies and tenant services.

New Housing Finance Agency product for Tier 2 bodies launched

The ICSH were delighted to form part of the launch of a new lending initiative offered by the HFA specifically targeted at Tier 2 or Tier 3 AHBs which are not currently approved Certified Bodies. The product launched is tailored to AHBs with lending requirements from a minimum of €250,000 up to €1,500,000 and is specifically tailored towards property acquisitions.

Budget 2016

A summary of the main aspects of the budget relating to social housing and supports is provided below. The ICSH provided a response noting the reaffirmation of the commitments in the Social Housing Strategy noting the absence of any effective short term solutions on rent certainty, increase of the rent caps etc. to address the  current crisis in the private rented sector.
 

2015 ICSH Allianz Community Housing Award winners announced

The Community Housing Awards, which encourage, recognise and reward excellence in the delivery of social housing has been in existence since 2003 and this year marks the 7th biennial Community Housing Awards.

Without doubt, the standard and quality of submissions was exceptionally high this year demonstrating the sector's commitment to deliver the highest quality housing.

€151m announced for housing associations to deliver over 1,000 homes to the most vulnerable

The ICSH welcome the announcement today by Ministers Kelly and Coffey of the €151m investment the first significant development programme under CAS for the last number of years

 

Funding of €84m will be provided for new build construction of 521 new homes and €67m for the purchase of a further 536 homes.

 

Housing Agency Regulation Office launch Annual Report and Financial Standard

The Regulation Office at the Housing Agency has released its first Annual Report and Sectoral Analysis on the regulation of AHBs. The Annual Report highlights the importance of regulation and explains how regulation is necessary to facilitate the delivery of more social housing. The Annual Report provides, for the first time, key data and analysis on the AHB sector operating in Ireland based on individual regulatory assessment of 142 AHBs.
