2016 HAPM Results Report

HAPM (Housing Association Performance Management) has been developed and managed by the ICSH since 2004 and is an important self-monitoring tool for housing associations to assess their performance and benchmark this within the sector. The number of participating members and tenancies covered by the HAPM framework has grown in recent years and the ICSH is delighted to see this trend has continued into 2016. There has never been a greater focus on governance and compliance within the housing association sector and HAPM demonstrates that, notwithstanding the legislative, economic or regulatory changes, housing associations continue to provide an excellent service to tenants and other stakeholders.

Housing Associations Call for Renewed Focus on Social Housing at AGM 2017

 
The five-pillar action plan on Housing and Homelessness, Rebuilding Ireland is only one-year off the block and must be given adequate resources to deliver on its commitments. So says Justin O'Brien, President of the Irish Council for Social Housing (ICSH), speaking today (3rd July 2017) at the organisation’s AGM in the Ashling Hotel Dublin.
 
Welcoming new Housing Minister Eoghan Murphy to the event, Mr O’Brien says that tackling homelessness remains the most critical housing issue for Rebuilding Ireland. However, any review of the Rebuilding Ireland plan must also recognise that the homelessness crisis will not be addressed without the urgent delivery and significant scaling-up of social housing. “Housing associations can and have made a defining contribution here. In 2016 we accommodated almost 2,000 households from the waiting lists from new delivery and letting of existing stock”, he says.

Leitrim County Council Expression of Interest: Delivering Social Housing for People with Disabilities

As part of a range of housing solutions, Leitrim County Council is currently seeking expressions of interests from housing associations (Approved Housing Bodies) interested in delivering a group home for people with an intellectual disability on an identified site in Manorhamilton, Co. Leitrim

Tipperary County Council - Repair and lease Scheme

A key action of the Government’s Rebuilding Ireland: An Action Plan for Housing and Homelessness is the Repair and Leasing Scheme. The scheme targets the delivery of social housing units and also ensures that existing housing stock is used to the maximum degree possible. The scheme provides for funding for repair and improvement works to suitable privately owned vacant properties to bring them up to the standard for rented accommodation. The properties are then leased to Tipperary County Council or an Approved Housing Body for a minimum of ten years and the cost of the works is deducted from lease payments over the agreed lease term.

Irish Council for Social Housing to Meet Western Members in Claremorris for Social Housing Regional Roadshow 2017

Representing 270 members providing social housing across the length and breadth of Ireland, the Irish Council for Social Housing (ICSH) will meet with members from the West/North-West of the country in the McWilliam Park Hotel, Claremorris, County Mayo on Wednesday 10th May.
