National Social Housing Conference to Address Sector’s Climate Action Responsibilities

“The social housing sector is looking to deliver low carbon solutions as part of our national effort to build a more climate resilient society”. So says Dr. Donal McManus, CEO of the Irish Council for Social Housing, at their National Social Housing conference in Wexford on 10th-11th October, sponsored by AIB.

The ICSH weclomes the Budget 2020 package, which includes the following meaures to deliver housing and combat homelessness
 

An overall package of €2.6 billion  to support the social housing needs of over 27,500 households in 2020. This breaks down as follows:

ICSH Biennial National Social Housing Conference 2019

 

This biennial ICSH conference, Social Housing 2019 – Innovation, delivery & sustainability will explore initiatives that have been successful, how they can be replicated and mainstreamed as well as what other measures and solutions that are needed to increase delivery and services to tenants. Speakers from Ireland, the EU and the US will also assist in learning that we can use in our own organisations, whether you are attending from the public, non-profi t or private sector.

4 out of 10 New Social Homes in 2018 were Delivered by Housing Associations

Today, the Irish Council for Social Housing (ICSH) will launch the Housing Association Activity Report 2018. Ireland’s housing association sector provided 3,219 social homes in 2018, 38% of the national total, and took more than 4,000 households off the social housing waiting list. 54% were new build social homes provided by ICSH members to households on the social housing waiting list, 33% were acquisitions and 13% were leased.

ICSH Allianz Community Housing Awards 2019

 

The ICSH Allianz Community Housing Awards 2019 were presented to winners on October 10th at our gala dinner in Wexford. This year's awards were the most hotly contested ever with more than 50 entries received from local authorities and housing associations across the country. #communityhousing19
