Seminar on RTB Dispute Resolution, 27 November 2018
The ICSH held a successful seminar on 27 November in conjunction with the Residential Tenancies Board focusing on the housing association experience of the disputes resolution process under the RTB to date. The seminar included informative presentations from Rosalind Carroll, RTB Director and Claire Diggin, RTB Head of Dispute Resolution on some of the main learnings from their perspective since housing associations came under the Act. These included the prevalence of cases focusing on rent arrears and over holding as well as some guidance to be followed when involved in the disputes process.

The second session gave an insight from the housing association perspective into using the various facets of the RTB Dispute Resolution process, including practical tips and guidance for members in terms of preparingfor mediation and adjudication as well as the process to follow in terms of collecting evidence in areas such as anti-social behaviour, breach of tenant obligations and rent arrears. This was followed by a very relevant Q&A session with attendees on various points of interest from the day.
