Taoiseach Leo Varadkar checks progress on Tuath’s social housing development in Dundalk

Dundoogan, Haynestown is a planned 1100 home development, 112 of which Tuath are acquiring for social housing in collaboration with the Department of Housing, Louth County Council and developer, Cannon Kirk Ltd. The first phase of 26 homes are due to be handed over this month with the remaining 86 homes ready for occupation by early 2020.

Eight One-bedroom Scheme is First Greenfield Development for Peter McVerry Trust

Peter McVerry Trust has opened its newest social housing development in Fingal today. This beautiful scheme of eight one-bedroom homes together with a small community building is the charity’s first greenfield development. It has been specifically designed to provide housing to single people with the most complex needs.

Túath Records 112% Increase in Turnover

Túath recorded significant year on year growth last year. The Association’s turnover increased by 35% from €23m in 2017 to €31m in 2018 on the back of a 22% increase in properties, with assets valued at over €426m, equalling a 61% increase. A 112% increase in turnover of €16.5m was recorded for the last 3 years.

In 2018, €161 million was spent in building and buying 654 new homes at an average cost of €248,000. A further 147 homes were acquired through long term leasing, bringing the overall total number of new social homes provided to 801 in the year.
