The Irish Council for Social Housing (ICSH) is the national representative federation for non-profit housing associations in Ireland.
With approximately 260 members, the ICSH comprises a small busy team serving members needs and influencing policy.

Collectively housing associations, (also known as approved housing bodies) manage over 35,000 social rented homes and provide related services to families,
formerly homeless households, older people, and people with disabilities in local communities across Ireland.

The role of housing associations and their delivery of new homes has expanded in recent years.
The Government’s Plan on Housing and Homelessness, Rebuilding Ireland’ recognises the key role
and contribution that the sector makes to addressing housing need in Ireland in social housing and other areas.

To further assist ICSH member organisations enhance their capacity to deliver increased numbers of new homes and services,
using changing finance and development models in the coming years, we are offering this opportunity to a highly motivated and experienced person who has a track record in delivery.

Head of Development Operations

This role will involve working with housing associations in leading and co-ordinating the development of existing and new programmes.

This role will include also working with Government bodies, local authorities, the private sector and other public bodies.


Key responsibilities of post will include:

  • Leading the response of the ICSH in housing development and financing initiatives


  • Supporting  ICSH member housing associations, individually or collectively, in their development plans for delivery and management.


  • Co-ordinating  the delivery of various programmes  and initiatives within the ICSH  and overseeing their implementation.


  • Applicants for this post should have proven experience of working in the housing sector in a development,and/or a relevant financial or housing development related qualification, in addition to excellent leadership, influencing and interpersonal skills.


Applicants must be delivery focused, have a track record of working with a range of different stakeholders,and can meet deadlines with many competing priorities.

A current, full driving licence is required as the role will involve travelling to numerous locations nationwide.
