About Us

North & East Housing Association was established in 1993 and has developed from a small-scale, mainly voluntary organisation into a well-established housing provider with a proven track record in the delivery of high-quality homes, comprehensive housing services and tenant supports.

In January 2016 North & East launched its Strategic Plan 2016 – 2021 containing a renewed  vision for the Association. The Vision that “Everyone is entitled to a quality home within the Community” is underpinned by three strategic goals;

  • To grow our housing stock to 700 units by the end of 2020
  • To support our tenants in developing and sustaining strong communities
  • To ensure our structures and resources are capable of supporting current and future activities

 

The Association are currently on track to deliver on those commitments and are in the process of defining the next Strategic Plan 2020 – 2024.

Development Manager

North & East Housing Association are currently recruiting for a Development Manager to take a lead role in the development and acquisition of new homes to meet North & East’s strategic growth targets. This will include sourcing of opportunities to bring forward high quality new social housing that meets housing needs, in line with the Association’s quality and standards for sustainable communities.

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Sourcing New Homes – identify potential new housing opportunities from a solid network base, conducting feasibility analyses and negotiating acquisitions in conjunction with our team.
  2. People Management – line management for a small team ensuring resources and performance/development meets the required standards.
  3. Supply Development – taking projects through the various stages from sourcing to delivery of housing by assessing and selecting competent partners, tracking and reporting on progress.
  4. Programme Management – support the organisation to define KPI’s, track and report on organisational performance versus the strategic plan, prepare reports for interested parties and support implementation and follow through.
  5. Leadership – actively participate as a member of the leadership team to support cohesive team collaboration towards the achievement of shared goals.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Third level qualification in a related discipline
  • Solid understanding of housing policy and practice
  • 2 years+ experience of working in a housing/property environment at a senior level
  • 2 years + experience of developing policy and strategy
  • 4 years + previous development experience, ideally in social housing
  • 4 years + experience procurement / contract supervision
  • Experience of carrying out development feasibility studies
  • Excellent working knowledge of property processes involved in construction and development
  • Experience of managing a team to deliver business objectives through collaboration with a peer management team
  • Project Management qualification – desirable

 

We are seeking a self-motivated individual with excellent communication, problem solving, leadership and team work skills who can demonstrate a high level of ability and commitment.

All staff are based in our Dublin 15 office, however there is a substantial amount of travel involved with the role so the successful candidate may work from other agreed office locations in Dundalk, Kells and North County Dublin during their weekly schedule. We can be flexible with the successful candidate in how this is managed.

Therefore, a full clean driving licence and ownership of a car is required. The salary scale for this position is €59,000 to €76,982 per annum.

Property Services Officer

North & East Housing Association  are currently recruiting for a Property Services Officer to work with the Association’s Property Services Manager to ensure all necessary technical services are delivered to a high standard.  This will include but not limited to stock condition surveys, building survey reports, defect diagnosis, property inspections, snagging, contract administration, clerk of works duties and providing technical support to staff.

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Stock Condition Surveys - To survey the existing housing stock and assist the Property Services Manager with the implementation of the Association’s Asset Management Strategy.
  2. Responsive Repairs & Maintenance - Carry out inspections of void properties and prepare list of repairs in addition to those required under the North and East’s void letting Policy.
  3. Planned & Cyclical Maintenance- Undertake pre and post inspections of properties and works included in planned and cyclical maintenance programme.
  4. Clerk of Works Duties Site inspection and monitoring of contracts, checking all materials and workmanship and certification of material
  5. Development - Carry out building condition surveys on new property acquisitions and assisting the Property Services Manager in preparing technical appraisals.
     

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Candidates will have at least 3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Minimum of Degree (at level 8 of NFQ) required in Building Surveying or equivalent  
  • Professional membership of the Society of Chartered Surveyor and the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors or equivalent  
  • Managing Safely in Construction Certification desirable
  • Full driving licence and use of car / Ability to meet the mobility requirements of the post.
  • Specialist role related knowledge, especially building surveying & building pathology.
  • Experience in carrying out building and schedule of conditions surveys.
  • Experience in planned and cyclical maintenance and production of relevant inspection reports.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and compliance within a construction setting.
  • Financial control and budget management skills
  • Experience of using AutoCAD in preparation of plans and details.
  • Knowledge of techniques of residential construction and their services systems for both single houses and multi-occupancy units.
  • Communication skills –verbal and written, report writing & presentation.
  • Ability to work accurately / attention to detail.
  • PC literate and competent in using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience of housing/asset management based software desirable.
  • Attend training appropriate to your role and ensure continuing professional development.

Tenant Support Desk Lead

North & East Housing Association  are currently recruiting for a Tenant Support Desk Lead  to take a lead role in ensuring our tenants receive excellent customer support and for continuing use and development of the Customer relationship function of our Housing Management System in line with the Association’s Tenant Engagement Strategy

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Customer Care – Co-ordinate all activities of the TSD with the Tenant Support Administrator ensuring a high level of engagement at all times with tenants
  2. Repairs & Maintenance – Monitor the repair process from logging the repair to follow up calls with tenants to obtain feedback on the process
  3. Advocacy - Act as advocate for the customer, by taking ownership and remaining accountable until each query is resolved, ensuring at all times that customers are kept informed of progress
  4. Tenant Communication - Review all current communications with tenants and develop plans to improve tenant satisfaction with communication
     

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years working in customer support using CRM systems.
  • Resolving customer issues and tracking all assigned tasks from beginning to end.
  • Experience in quality control and the implementation of improved practice and procedures.
  • Experience in dealing with members of the public.
  • Proven track record in analysing data and creating reports.
  • Experience engaging with minority groups and more vulnerable members of the public.

The position will be based within our Dublin 15 offices. The salary scale for this position is from €38,105 to €51,605 per annum
